Wow! I can’t believe it’s two weeks since my last post!
I thought I’d better report my progress in my attempts to learn how to create my own information product.
I’m really pleased with myself because I set myself a schedule and stuck to it and completed the schedule with a day to spare!

Things are moving along nicely. I have my minisite graphics and ebook covers from Planet Divinity (they delivered them in around 24 hours) and I’m really, really pleased with them! The quality and service I received from them was excellent, so good that I have ordered another ebook cover and a DVD template from them for the video’s I have created and the guide I have written to go with them.

The short video tutorials are now ready, this was challenging at first but became easier as I went along and, all in all, it has been an altogether illuminating experience! I used Microsoft Powerpoint in conjuction with Camtasia to produce them and I am quite pleased with the results. Powerpoint 2007 has an ‘Add-In’ that allows you to produce your presentations as Camtasia video’s, I found this very useful.

The Camtasia feature I liked was being able to lay down the audio track after the video was created, this was a great help! I know that not many people like the sound of their own voice but I had to keep re-taking the audio so even I could understand what I was saying!

I still have to work on the salespage, create a webpage template for the video’s and check over my ebook (again)!
I keep returning to the video’s and PDF documents that came with John Thornhill’s Personal Coaching Course to make sure I don’t miss anything out and I think I’m ok, I’m just a few weeks behind!

Learning How To Create My Own Information Product

These past few weeks I have been really busy, learning how to create my own information product. This is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time but have put off for months and months using various excuses, the main one being that ‘I don’t have the time’, when really, with me, it’s a lack of confidence thing!

I decided that the time was right to learn how to create my own information product and I would make time to complete the task from start to finish. Luckily, I managed to get a place on John Thornhill’s Personal Coaching Course, something I had tried to get on earlier in the year but because John only takes 20 or so students at a time, the slots were always sold out when I ‘clicked to join’.

The course runs for sixteen weeks and having a week between each module gives
plenty of time of time to complete each weekly set of tasks. However, I have fallen
behind, owing to a few offline problems, but I’m confident I’ll catch up over the next
couple of weeks!

The product I am creating is an ebook to help the beginner and intermediate in a
certain subject that I will reveal a bit closer to launch day. The ebook is nearly
ready and I’m going to take the massive (for me!) step of producing around 20
video tutorials to complement the ebook and including them in the price of the ebook!

I have my domain name and hosting set up at D9 Hosting and I have ordered my mini website graphics from Dave and Steve at Planet Divinity and when I receive the graphics, I’ll put a link on here to the website so you can see how creative Planet Divinity are with graphics!

I also have a bit of work to do on the salespage and I can then concentrate on the
video’s. I’m confident that I’ll be good to go in about two weeks.
Right, that’s about all for today, back to the salespage!
